Jace Arclight, Elemental Mage Empty Jace Arclight, Elemental Mage

Jace is a 20 year old brand new wizard school graduate. He spent most of his youth at the academy, and has much theoretical knowledge but not much practical experience. The school was run by a former commoner made good, and in the spirit of not forgetting his roots, he runs it as sort of "blue collar" wizard school, giving those talented youths without noble birth or extraordinary means a change at becoming a wizard. The instruction was much of what would be taught at any school, but with a dose of more mundane instruction that the headmaster thought would ensure his students greater success (and longer life) than apprentices at other schools. Graduates of his academy as a whole tended to be healthier and have a wider variety of skills than most new wizards. Still, a certain resentment of the elitist attitude of noble or wealthy wizards in inherent in the academy's philosophy, and Arclight is easily annoyed and irritated by such snobbery.

Despite the more hands on techniques apprentices were taught, Jace still is reticient to use violence to achieve his goals, and even more reluctant to draw blood. Apprentices received basic tutoring in a single weapon for those occasions when magic could not prevail, and Jace chose the sling, a distance weapon that kept him removed from the the immediacy of physical combat, and more importantly, usually did not pierce the skin.

Sent forth from the academy to make his way in the world, Jace is smart enough to realize that to thrive he will need to surround himself with friends, or at least allies with similar goals. He has caught a ride with a traveling merchant (who was easily entertained by a trifling display of magic) into a nearby town where he hopes to find some trustworthy folk in need of a (little) magical assistance...

Dude . . . this is excellent! Well thought out character, and good background! I love some of the intricacies you've added into his mentality, as well as how you've pretty much left him wide open to seek out the adventure that may (very well) present itself during the campaign.

Great write-up, man. Very well-played! cheers

Well, to be fair, you never DID get a chance to see what it could do, and for all anyone knows that may just be the name of it as a particular type of magical artifact...right? Um...right? Ah crap....
