I generally provide the players with a document similar to what we build with the Player's Guides to our Adventure Paths. I encourage the players to build characters who have connections to each other, and usually tell them that there's a few restrictions, like "You have to all play humans" or "You have to all create citizens of this town," or whatever. I never just say "Make whatever characters you want," because that's a great way to get a group that's little more than a freak show of malcontents who'd rather kill each other than adventure together.

What's the deal with Barbarians? Where does all that rage come from? You'd think disemboweling orcs would be therapeutic, but it just seems to make them angrier! You disembowel more orcs, you go up in level, yadda yadda yadda - you rage even more! I really don't see the attraction. You'd think they could just have a beer and mellow out... but then drinking seems to set these guys off, too! You ever walk into a tavern with a barbarian and NOT have the evening end in a fight? Is there anything that WON'T set them off? It's like going into a frothing rage is their answer to everything!

Are the orcs invading? RAAAAGE! Evil wizard with a doomsday device? RAAAAGE! Parking Ticket? RAAAAGE!

"I'm sorry Mister Cohen, it's after eleven, we're no longer serving breakfast."

"RAAAAAAGE!"

Personally I don't think anyone with those kind of anger issues should be allowed anywhere near an axe.

People say about RP Empty Couple of fun quotes from the Paizo forums....

Dragons may look like lizards, but they're not animals. They're dragons. Highly magical creatures that ignore a number of things nature usually insists on, because they're confident and powerful enough to give nature the finger. -Kaeyoss-

People say about RP Empty From Paizo Boards . . .

This was a quick statement and reply from the Paizo boards in a thread talking about how the assortment of authors used to produce a single rules book for Paizo (eg. the APG, UM, or UC) may be leading to quality issues. I found it hilarious!

Razz wrote: Someone offered a perfect solution to this...why won't Paizo go through with it...?

Take a couple dozen of hardcore rules lawyers, make them sign an NDA, have them point out the errors. I am sure many folks here will do it as volunteer work if money is an issue.

Instead you have several dozen of us here pointing out errors and no fast answers after a release. A lot of us have games to run and we can't have them come to a screeching halt waiting on a correction for weeks or months.

which was answered with:
