So here I am at the library in Delta yet again, and my ipod pulls up what I'm fairly confidant is just about the PERFECT theme music for Riff. Its not anything you'll commonly hear, it's a theme for a character from the most recent season of Doctor Who, but it fits like a glove...or fits like a...um...a whatsit into one of those other thingimahoozits.

So it got me to wondering, what's the theme music you'd most typically associate with your current characters? Or even any past characters you've ever played in any game system we've touched on? (Oh, and I'll bring my speaker backpack on tuesday with my ipod so you guys can hear Riff's newly found theme music...)

After giving it some thought (about 5 minutes worth) I think Jaya's theme song would be "Girl with the weight of the world in her hands" by Uncle Bonsai Indigo Girls.

She won't recover from her losses,
She's not chosen this path, but she watches who it crosses
Maybe move to the right, maybe move to the left
So we can all see her pain she wears like a banner on her chest
And we all say it's sad, and we think it's a shame
And she's called to our attention, but we do not call her name,
The girl with the weight of the world in her hands.

We're busy with our happiness, busy with our plans
I wonder if alone she wants it taken from her hands
But if things didn't get any harder
She might miss her sacred chance to go a consecrated martyr,
The girl with the weight of the world in her hands.

I wonder which saint that lives inside a bead
will grant her consolation when she counts upon her need
It makes us all angry though we feign to care
But who will be the scale to weigh the cross she has to bear,
The girl with the weight of the world in her hands.

EDIT:

New answer, after listening to Sarah McLachlan on the way home last night decided "I will remember you" especially the first verse is fitting.

I'm so tired but I can't sleep
Standin' on the edge of something much too deep
It's funny how we feel so much but we cannot say a word
We are screaming inside, but we can't be heard

But I will remember you
Will you remember me?
Don't let your life pass you by
Weep not for the memories

Wow. Creepy Arik...juuuuuuuuuuuust creepy. Though ironically, "people are strange" was pretty much my brother's theme song when we went to Panama City Beach for spring break one year...ohhhhh memories of how my brother was a BIT socially inept there... Razz

Ok, so Ben (Eddick) and I were just discussing this thread. I'm not quite sure what song would be Gwilly's theme but I'm working on it. It'll come to me, I just know it...

Anyway, Ben said that Eddick's song would be Nature Boy ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KexJb5Vu4i0)

I have to agree!

I have a couple of songs that remind me of the CoRD game...

'It's The End of the World As We Know It' - REM pale

'Tomorrow' - from the musical Annie (All Glory to the Morninglord!) sunny

'Fighting the Darkness' - Primal Fear (Evil Ashara song...)

'Can't Fight This Feeling' - REO Speedwagon (Ashara's song before entering Dagadar)

'Never Gonna Be Alone' - Nickelback (I fondly refer to it as the 3rd Watch song)

was re-reading "Robert's Journal" from the 1890s campaign and also listening to Sara McLachlin in the car and this song just epitomizes Rebecca's struggle with her feelings for Sebastian and the increasing influence of Vlad...

Sara McLachlin's "Do what you have to do."

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N1KnE1Zu_84&feature=related

If that campaign were a musical it would be played after the snowball fight at Sleepy Hallow because that is when Vlad told her "If you don't remove Sebastian from your life I will, permanently." Then it would be reprised at the end after her death and funeral when Sebastian leaves to travel the world with her ashes.

On a separate note, I have my notes from that campaign (sadly they start just before Urkhart castle when Robert and Rebecca met up with "Stetson and Miriam" and then left Sebastian to heal in the hospital) but i have some dates to add to Robert's journal and plan on doing up a piece of what happened to Rebecca with regards to Vlad.

I do think it would be fun to come up with the musical "score" to that campaign... Very Happy

so in thinking about and writing the back story for my ranger, the amnesiac, I have come up with a couple of songs that pretty much sum up the early part of her life.

The first half of Broken by Lifehouse listen here

and then Breathing also by Lifehouse listen here

Yay, my ranger has an emo past... Crying or Very sad Wink
