Wot's in a name?
So, now that we are an "official" adventuring group of Cormyr we need a name!
Seeing as though in the game time we technically have a name since we weren't going to get a charter without one I thought that maybe the discussion about said name could be done ooc (but I am up for rping it should ya'll choose to do so).
Time to open up the discussion~ what do YOU think we should be called?

Re: Wot's in a name?
We CAN do this in character. I don't really care. Lets just start bouncing around some names here, people!
It was mentioned that the word Seeker should be in the title. Seekers of what, though? Justice? Truth? Bodies? Monkeys?

Re: Wot's in a name?
Honestly... I wasn't too sold on 'Seekers' or 'lookers'.... It implies a goal, that not ALL characters have...
Not EVERYONE is actaully LOOKING for something, and what happens after they find it? We run across a couple of dwarfs and Willow find her memories... and the name loses all meaning...
Not even mentioning the possiblities of the 'seeking' characters dying and getting replaced...
Personally I'd prefer something a little more generic that not only works for the group that is here... but also for everyone who may join in the future....
A little more "champions of the Red Dawn... and Knights of Myth Drannor" as opposed to 'Band of the Scimitars' where in order to join you needed a scimtar...

Seekers was just a random thought. Doesn't really fit my character either actually...
What ever you guys choose will be fine with me.

Re: Wot's in a name?
I kinda think she was hoping for suggestions and discussion on names, folks. Ideas . . . you know, from brainstorming and such. Knights of Myth Drannor and Champions of the Red Dawn are great names, but already taken. Actually, Band of the Scimitars isn't a bad name either, as it could have been easily used more metaphorically than literally . . . that's just not the way the group chose to take it. And, just because everyone knew how to use a scimitar, only one character actually used said weapon.
Let's get some suggestions as to possible names on here, though! Toss stuff out. It can be anything and everything. Something might trigger inspiration for a truly great name, even if where it came from might not be so much!
I'm not helping on this one, however, as I've done enough of that in past for you guys. It's time for you all to carry your own weight in choosing a name for your group! Certainly, this crew is creative enough . . .

Re: Wot's in a name?
Thanks, Pat. Felt like I was pulling teeth there for a minute.
Thats a good idea but I don't think we should worry to much about the future joiners of our group. Honestly, I don't think our group in character would think that far ahead. This is just coming from the point of view of a pixie who couldn't care less what the Red Dawn was when she joined up with CoRD. Eventually new characters will adopt the name of the group when they adopt the group as their own (kinda the mindset "love us, love our name") no matter how strange it may be.
That much said, I will offer a few ideas of my own.
*disclaimer-I am not sold on any of these names, I just want to inspire some discussion*
The Grave Robbers
Those That Do Not Know What They Wish to Be Called
The Standard of Justice
Explorers of Cormyr
The Band of Steel
Riders of the Wind
The Fellowship of the Fantastic
The Heralds of the Storm
The Green Cloaks
Like I said, not sold on any of these. Just want to present some ideas that we might be able to run with.

Re: Wot's in a name?
We could also be Guardians of the Tressym
Heck, we're in Cormyr and we have a Tressym in our group and even if (heaven forbid) our Tressym has to leave us we could still use the name since those particular creatures are fairly famous in Cormyr (at least, that is what I've been told).

Re: Wot's in a name?
What about these based off what we have done as a group
Champions of Forgottten Kings
Knights of Forgotten Realms
Heros of the Ancients
Knights of Kindoms Past
Something like these include the groups actual accomplishments in tombs others that excluded myself and annes new charecter but still sounded kinda cool were.
Warriors of the Mists
or more too the truth of our charecters backgrounds would be something regarding the phoenix as all of us have risen above some major degree of turmoil in our pasts.

Re: Wot's in a name?
I was thinking along the same lines... I was trying to work Bluestich in somewhere as that is where the group was actually FOUNDED...
So far I've come up blank :/
I don't beleive Tobias would associate himself in ANY way with the mist... Mist = Evil...
Champion's of Forgotten Kings is Really pretty cool...
Also, Knights of Forgotten Realms is Sheer brilliance on SOOO many levels
Also fond of Band of steel.
And just to actually CONTRIBUTE...
The Blades of Justice?

Re: Wot's in a name?
I love the 'of the forgotten king'
Do we really want to have two groups of 'Champions' in the same game? I guess I'd be fine with it if everyone else is... But I can't help but think that the Defender, guardian, heroes, or some other noun might be less confusing in the grand scheme...
either way...

Re: Wot's in a name?
Well we could go with Heroes, Warriors, or Knights (though there really is only one knight in the group) of Forgotten Kings.

I'll put in my vote for Heroes of the Forgotten King!
Not all of us are classically warriors either, and though Saedda does wear a rapier, the weapon is much more ornamental than battle-proven...
Yeharrr!
